The 14 Best Article Rewriters for Content Repurposing

Looking for an article rewriter?

Whether you’re trying to repurpose content to pitch as guest posts, rewrite a terrible first draft submitted to you by a freelancer, or plagiarize a college essay (don’t do that), there are many tools that can help you out.

Seriously, though: you should try to write your own stuff.

Article rewriters are best used to augment your own capabilities – to improve paragraphs and sentence structure. To make something new and better.

This piece will cover my 14 favorite article spinners and rewriters.

What is an Article Rewriter?

An article rewriter is pretty much what it sounds like: it takes existing content and rewrites it.

Many tools use artificial intelligence to do this. Some, like Jasper, even have a learning feature – so the more you use it, the better it gets at understanding your writing style and rewriting accordingly.

Some simply repurpose your content into different words. Some seek to improve the style, making it funnier, more or less formal, shorter or longer.

In any case, they’re easy to use: you just copy and paste your original text into the tool, give it commands and directions, and it spits out a new version (at the sentence, paragraph, or entire article level).

A good article rewriter should pass a plagiarism check like Copyscape. Ideally, there are commands and customizations to actually improve your article (the voice, style, tone).

Some of the tools on this list are free or have free trials. Some are very limited in their scope, and others are very general AI copywriters. There’s something for everyone here.

Note: I’m going to add some affiliate links where possible. This isn’t going to influence what I put on the list. I just want to make some money from my content, okay? You can also hire me to do your SEO and content. Or just use my affiliate links. Either way. But this content takes time!

1. Jasper AI

Screen shot 2022-08-09 at 9.04.27 pm

Jasper AI is my favorite article rewriter, and honestly, one of my favorite content marketing tools in general. It’s an AI-driven copywriting software that uses natural language processing and machine learning to help you write better, more engaging content.

Jasper also has a “learn” feature, so the more you use it, the better it gets at understanding your writing style and rewriting accordingly. You can give it commands, like writing in a certain tone of voice (for example, I can have it write like Hunter S. Thompson, which is fun).

I use it to generate content briefs, headlines, and even full paragraphs of new content for my blog posts. I also use it to repurpose my long form blog posts into smaller social media posts for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.

This is the best article spinner in my opinion.

Pros:

  • The built-in templates make it easy to get started
  • It’s one of the most accurate and well-performing AI copywriting tools on the market
  • They continue to develop more product features.
  • You can genuinely write great love letters and poems with this thing. Seriously, it’s great.

Cons:

  • The tool is very powerful, but it requires a lot of learning to get the best use out of it.
  • It’s a little more expensive than some basic article spinners.

Pricing:

Jasper starts at $29 per month but you can try it out for free (money back guarantee as well)

2. Quillbot

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.48.20 am

Quillbot is one of the more popular article rewriters out there. It’s easy to use: you just paste your text into the tool and it’ll automatically rewrite it according to your commands.

They have features that let you control the tone (formal or informal) and either expand or shorten sentences. You can also control the amount of synonyms you include.

They have other features beyond their paraphrasing and rewriting tool, including a grammar checker and a plagiarism checker.

Pros:

  • It’s very easy to use – just paste your text in and it automatically rewrites it.
  • The paraphrasing tool is accurate and performs well.
  • They have a grammar checker and plagiarism checker as well.

Cons:

  • It’s not as feature rich as other AI tools
  • It’s not the best for generating long form blog posts

Pricing:

Quillbot is free to use. In fact, you can literally go to their website and use it without an account. Then the paid plan is just $8.33 USD per month. The free plan is a bit limited though.

3. Copy AI

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.48.47 am

Next up, we have another article rewriter tool that goes beyond simple article spinning.

Copy AI is my second favorite AI-driven writing assistant (first place goes to Jasper).

Like Jasper, this tool allows you to input text and then it’ll automatically rewrite it. But Copy AI also offers a “content generation” feature, which is basically a fill-in-the-blank template system.

So, if you need help writing an introduction for your blog post, all you have to do is input some keywords related to your topic and Copy AI will generate an introduction for you.

They have a great blog post template where you can generate an outline from a keyword, fill in the outline with details, and it will write you an entire blog post within minutes.

As a rewriting tool, it’s great for small sections of copy (like for ads). Like Jasper, it uses artificial intelligence and natural language analysis to produce human sounding copy. It’s available in multiple languages, but it does English best.

Pros:

  • Offers a “content generation” feature that helps you write blog posts, introductions, and more.
  • It’s available in multiple languages.
  • It uses artificial intelligence to produce tons of different types of copy, including, of course content spinning.

Cons:

  • The content generation feature is not as accurate as I’d like it to be.
  • It’s a bit more expensive than some of the other options on this list.
  • The free version is super limited in its functionality, so you’ll probably have to upgrade.

Pricing:

Copy AI has a forever free plan, which is awesome but the free plan is quite limited. The paid plans start at $49/mo

4. Word AI

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.49.22 am

Word AI uses advanced machine learning models to improve the quality and accuracy of its content spinning. It’s one of the most accurate tools on the market and it produces human sounding copy.

This one is heavily used by SEO content marketers and it is built with that use case in mind, adding in relevant LSI keywords to increase the chances of a piece of content to rank in search.

They also have a feature for bulk spinning – add all your articles at once and save a ton of time.

This one is a web based article spinner with no Chrome extension, but it’s a pretty solid tool.

Pros:

  • It’s one of the most accurate article spinners on the market.
  • It produces human sounding copy.
  • It has a feature for bulk spinning.
  • Generates plagiarism free content

Cons:

  • No Chrome extension – you have to use the web interface.
  • It’s not as feature-rich as general purpose AI writing assistants
  • It’s more expensive that most article spinning software on this list

Pricing:

Word AI has a 3 day free trial and then the first place starts at $57/month

5. Spin Rewriter

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.49.53 am

Spin Rewriter is an article spinning tool that takes a piece of content and rewrites it multiple times, creating different versions of the original.

This is useful for SEO purposes because you can create tons of unique content from a single source article.

It’s also great for repurposing old content, as you can simply spin an old blog post or article and create a new piece of content from it.

Spin Rewriter is one of the oldest and most popular article spinners on the market. It’s been around for over 11 years and it’s constantly being updated with new features. It’s a very popular article rewriter tool, from what I gather.

They use “emulated natural language” to create their spun articles. I’m not sure what emulated natural language is, but it sounds fancy. Bulk article rewriting is one of its strongest features.

Pros:

  • It’s one of the oldest and most popular article spinners.
  • It’s constantly being updated with new features.
  • Their bulk spinning functionality is insane. Generate up to 1,000 articles with just one original blog post
  • Stock photo integration

Cons:

  • The interface is a bit dated and could be more user-friendly.
  • It doesn’t generate net new content, and sometimes the spun articles are quite low quality.

Pricing:

Plans start at $47 a month. No free plan, but they have a free trial.

6. Speedwrite

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.50.15 am

Speedwrite is a free article rewriter and probably one of the most popular paraphrasing and text generation tools in the space.

However, I think it’s fairly low quality. It doesn’t really support multiple languages, and its rewrites are pretty basic. You can’t really control the inputs outside of the content you give it, so you just have to accept what outputs it gives you.

It’s really not even article rewriter software in the usual sense; rather, it generates new copy based on your source material. So it’s sort of a mixture between a paraphrasing tool and a text generator. I’d say it’s probably not the best article rewriter out there, especially if you need bulk spinning.

Conversely, they have a free plan and available to use on their web based article rewriter tool. The paid version is only $19.99 per month as well.

So if your use cases are fairly basic, this one might suffice. But otherwise, I’d look into alternatives to Speedwrite.

Pros:

  • It’s a free article rewriter.
  • It’s simple to use.

Cons:

  • The output is pretty basic and low quality.
  • It’s not very configurable or customizable.
  • You can’t control the inputs outside of the content you give it.
  • Only available in English.

Pricing: Free plan is available without an account, with a paid version for $19.99 per month

7. CleverSpinner

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.50.48 am

CleverSpinner is an AI powered article spinner that creates human readable and unique content.

This is one of many SEO tools that people don’t know about. SEOs are using this one to generate tons of spun content for backlink campaigns. It looks like they use some sort of natural language processing, but the page doesn’t explain much about the technology.

Claims to produce plagiarism free copy as well.

Honestly, I haven’t used this one. The website just looks scammy and horrible, so I can’t even trust it.

I’d avoid just based on that.

Pros:

  • I have no idea.

Cons:

  • The website looks like a scam.
  • I don’t trust it.

Pricing: $9.90/month, with a 3 day free trial available. No free plan.

8. Chimp Rewriter

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.51.09 am

Chimp Rewriter is super popular. It is one of the oldest and most popular article spinners on the market. It’s been around since 2011 and it’s constantly being updated with new features.

Chimp Rewriter is a desktop application that you can install on your computer. It has a lot of features, but the basic idea is that you give it an article and it will spin it for you and generate plagiarism free content.

It also integrates with tons of SEO tools including WP Robot, RankWyz, Ultimate Demon, SEO Content Machine, GSA Search Engine Ranker, Kontent Machine and more.

I don’t use any of those SEO tools, but they’re available for you within Chimp Rewriter if you do.

Pros:

  • It’s one of the oldest and most popular article spinners.
  • It’s constantly being updated with new features.
  • They offer a desktop application that you can install on your computer.

Cons:

  • Well, the desktop based article rewriter could be a downside too.
  • For Mac users, you have to use a Windows emulator.
  • Bit complex to get the hang of at first.

Pricing:

Chimp Rewriter starts at $15 per month with a 14 day free trial

9. Spinner Chief

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.51.35 am

Spinner Chief is another popular article spinner tool. It’s a lot like Quillbot, but better suited for scaled out content creation, giving you the option to paraphrase your text into one version or many versions (at least on the paid plan).

Spinner Chief is best used for people who need to generate a lot of content quickly. For example, if you’re doing SEO and you need to create a bunch of spun content for backlinks, this would be a good tool.

Or if you’re a Content Marketer and you need to repurpose some content for various social media platforms or other channels.

I haven’t used it myself, but I’ve heard good things about it. Spinner Chief 6 just launched, so they keep adding to it and improving it.

Pros:

  • It’s best suited for people who need to generate a lot of content quickly.
  • It has a paraphrase option which is helpful.
  • Desktop and web based article spinner software available

Cons:

  • Seems a bit clunky, and I’m not sure if it has a plagiarism checker
  • I tried the web based article spinner, and it wasn’t super impressive.
  • Expensive for what it actually offers

Pricing:

$57 per month

10. Wordtune

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.52.04 am

Wordtune is a popular Chrome extension that helps you rewrite content everywhere.

While it may not be the best article rewriter (in the purest sense) because it doesn’t do bulk spinning well, it’s one of my favorite tools to genuinely improve your writing.

And that’s what this is all about, right? You, the reader, genuinely want to improve your writing — and not just spin a bunch of bullshit plagiarism all over the web in the name of link building, right?

Sorry — soapbox.

Back to the article that I’m writing with the help of Jasper to rank for a keyword and hopefully make some affiliate revenue.

Wordtune is awesome. It works with Google Docs, Microsoft Word…pretty much anywhere you’re writing. And you can see how it works directly on their website.

Pros:

  • It’s helpful for genuinely improving your writing.
  • Works with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and pretty much anywhere else you’re writing.

Cons:

  • It’s not the best at bulk spinning, but that’s not really what it’s for.
  • I’m not sure about the plagiarism checker

11. Spinbot

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.52.35 am

Spinbot is yet another of the article spinner tools that I haven’t actually tried but I’m adding to this list to make it more comprehensive.

Here’s what their website says:

“Spinbot is a free, automatic article spinner that will rewrite human readable text intoadditional, intelligent, readable text. Similarly, if you need a paraphrasing tool, Spinbot will get the job done for you for that purpose as well.”

Sounds cool enough, right?

You don’t actually expect me to use 14 different article rewriter tools, do you?

Pros:

  • Free and automatic article spinner that will rewrite human readable text.
  • Paraphrasing tool with a solid reputation

Cons:

  • I haven’t tried it so I can’t speak to its effectiveness.

Pricing:

Free! Though there is a paid version for $19 per month.

12. SmallSEOtools rewriter

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.53.08 am

Okay, here’s one I’ve actually tried!

I like SmallSEOTools. I use their plagiarism checker all the time. And they’re actually one of the best article spinner tools, mainly because it’s free.

They claim to produce original content, but they also have a free plagiarism checker so you can double check.

What can I say? It’s simple (not the most powerful or feature-rich), but it does what you need it to: spin articles.

Pros:

  • It’s a free article rewriter
  • Plagiarism checker is built in so you can double check the content that it produces.

Cons:

  • Not the most powerful or feature-rich tool.
  • I’m not sure about the plagiarism detector (I haven’t used it)
  • I don’t think they use any sort of GPT-3 or advanced NLP, but who knows
  • Ads all over the place

Pricing: Free!

13. Copymatic

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.53.37 am

Copymatic is actually a pretty sick tool. It’s an all-purpose AI writer, much like Jasper or Copy AI. One small feature that it does is act as a plagiarism free rewriter.

But on a broader level, it helps you save a ton of time by generating pretty solid content using AI.

They have tools for social media ads, blog posts, product descriptions and much more. Choose one of those, describe your product, and VOILA! You’ve got content.

I still prefer Jasper, but this one is pretty good. A little less flexible, but cheaper at $19/mo and it supports 25+ languages.

Pros:

  • Cheaper at $19/mo
  • Supports 25+ languages
  • Generates pretty solid content using AI.

Cons:

  • A little less flexible than Jasper.
  • I’m not sure about the plagiarism detector (I haven’t used it)
  • The interface is a little confusing

Pricing:

$19 per month with a free trial

14. Hypotenuse AI

Screen shot 2022-08-10 at 8.54.03 am

Hypotenuse AI is aimed at ecommerce, even including a Shopify integration.

Now, this is another powerful AI text generator. But if you have thousands of SKUs (that is, products), and many of them are similar, this tool could be an amazing solution for paraphrasing.

Probably not the best article rewriting tool. But for retailers, this is the one to go for. Generate social copy, product descriptions…hell, even blog posts.

Pros:

  • The Shopify integration is amazing for ecommerce stores.
  • It’s a powerful AI text generator that can help you save time on content creation.
  • Easy to use!
  • Bulk product descriptions

Cons:

  • You probably won’t like it if you just want a free article spinner or to generate bulk article spinning. But c’mon, stop pumping the web with rehashed fluff!

Pricing:

$29/mo

Wrap up on best article spin rewriters

There you have it! The 14 best article rewriters for content repurposing.

I hope this helped you find the tool that’s right for you.

As you could tell if you read every word of this piece, I’m slightly revolted by some of the tools on this list that simply bulk spin articles to pump the internet full of terrible content.

Like any tool, you can use this stuff for good or bad.

For example, I repurpose a lot of my original (read that again: original, as in I wrote it and it was my idea) content into tweets, LinkedIn posts, etc. Love doing that.

However, you could also be a student and just rip a Wikipedia article into something new. I’m not here to judge, but maybe just read the damn book.

Or you could copy and paste someone else’s content and spin it into something new. To me, that’s a disturbing lack of moral character, and you should not do that.

So anyway, I like using Jasper. It’s great.

If you want a free article spinner, check out SmallSEOTools or Speedwrite.

Otherwise, paraphrasing tools like Quillbot and Word AI and Wordtune will do wonders to improve your writing.
