The 8 Best AI Text Generators to 10X Content Production

Last Updated on March 31, 2023 by Alex Birkett

If you’re looking for a way to create better content faster, you should consider using an AI text generator tool.

I know, I know – can AI text generation really compete with human writing?

It’s not that AI generated text replaces that of human writers; rather, it augments your capacity to produce content.

AI text generators are designed to help you write high-quality content more efficiently by automating some of the tedious and time-consuming tasks involved in the content creation process.

This, for me at least, speeds up my content creation by about 2-5X (sometimes 10X, depending on the blog post).

If you want a quick overview, I recorded this Loom video about my personal favorite AI text generator tools:

What is an AI Text Generator?

An AI text generator is a piece of software that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to generate written content.

AI text generators are trained on large datasets of existing text, which they use to learn the style and structure of writing.

Once they’ve learned how to generate text that sounds human, they can be used to automatically write articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and other types of content.

There are two main types of AI text generators: neural networks and natural language processing (NLP) models.

Neural networks are the more advanced option and can generate higher-quality results; however, NLP models are often easier to use and require less training data.

In general, neural network-based AI text generators are considered superior to NLP-based tools; however, both types of tools can be used to produce impressive results.

Editor’s note: I’m going to use some affiliate links when possible to try to earn some revenue from my content. These don’t change the opinions espoused in the content nor the style in which they are written. If I think a product sucks, I’m not going to say otherwise. This is just a bonus and a way to fund the whole operation. Anyway, enjoy the article!

The 8 Best AI Text Generator Tools in 2023

  2. GrowthBar
  3. ChatGPT
  4. Frase
  5. Copysmith
  6. Hypotenuse AI
  7. Copy AI
  8. Writer

1. Jasper AI

Jasper is a neural network-based AI text generator that is capable of generating human-like content.

It is built primarily on top of GPT-3 by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research lab, and is one of the most advanced AI text generators available.

Jasper requires a large amount of training data in order to produce high-quality results; however, its output is often indistinguishable from that of a human writer. Additionally, Jasper is very flexible and can be used to generate different types of content, including articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and more.

For instance, I used Jasper’s “One Shot Blog Post” template to generate the first 500 words of this article.

Jasper also has a native integration with Surfer SEO, so you can bake in all the suggested keywords and assets to help your blogs rank in search.

Jasper is my all-around favorite AI copywriting tool, especially for long form blogs. With both their text generator and their AI image generator, they’re constantly testing different language models to determine the best outputs for users.

Price: Basic plans start at $24 per month, but the real value comes from their Boss Mode plan, which starts at $49 per month when paid annually.

G2 score: 4.8/5

2. GrowthBar

GrowthBar is a newer SEO tool that I’ve discovered. One part of the platform helps you generate text with AI, but that’s just a small piece of its feature set.

It also includes keyword research functionality, competitor analysis, backlink analysis, and the ability to generate content briefs.

I primarily use the Google Chrome extension, but they also have an interface you can use.

While not the best at rewriting or editing content at the sentence level, it’s great for creating net new original content.

Price: $48 /Month for their starter plan (they have a 5 day free trial as well).

G2 score: 4.9/5

3. ChatGPT

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s conversational artificial intelligence interface, an AI word generator that builds responses based on your natural language inputs.

It’s powerful. And popular.

The thing about ChatGPT is it has basically unlimited use cases, from being an AI letter generator to an AI response generator (almost like a search engine) using just a few clicks. But it has pretty strong limitations with regards to its accuracy.

However, the basic AI content generator is free and I use it for a ton of my initial research in outlining a block post as well as in editing and repurposing my existing content.

The premium version, ChatGPT+, gives you greater input parameters and plugins, which could unlock a whole new world of AI products.

Pretty neat stuff happening here.

Price: this is a free AI writer, and ChatGPT+ is $20/mo

G2 Score: N/A

4. Frase

Frase is a content writing platform that uses AI to help users generate high-quality content more efficiently.

It includes a number of features, such as a keyword research tool and a content optimization tool, that make it easy to produce well-written and SEO-friendly content.

Frase also offers a range of templates that can be used to quickly generate common types of content, such as blog posts, product descriptions, and email newsletters.

I look at Frase as a complete SEO platform, including content briefs and outlines to conquer writer’s block, a language model capable of creating great content and ideas, and an optimization score that helps you best position your content for Google search.

Price: starts at just $14.99/mo (also can get a 5-day trial for only $1)

G2 score: 4.8/5

5. Copysmith

Copysmith is an AI text generator that specializes in creating marketing copy. It includes a number of features that make it easy to produce high-converting copy, such as a headline analyzer and a call-to-action optimization tool.

Copysmith also offers a range of templates for common marketing materials, such as landing pages, Facebook ads, and email campaigns.

I look at Copysmith as one of the best AI platforms for larger teams and enterprises. They’ve got a Chrome extension and API access, and they actually just acquired both Frase and Rytr. This is the platform built for scale.

Price: $19/mo for their basic plan (they also include a free trial)

G2 score: 4.3/5

6. Hypotenuse AI

Hypotenuse AI is an AI writing tool quickly gaining in popularity.

Some distinguishing features include their content detective tool to help you research and write factual content, their bulk content generator (great for product descriptions), and their AI image generator.

Like others on this list, Hypotenuse AI uses different language models to develop human-sounding original content. They’ve also got a plagiarism and grammar checker for editing.

Great all around platform.

Price: $24 /month for the basic plan (they also have a free trial)

G2 score: 4.2/5

7. Copy AI

Copy AI is another GPT-3 based AI text generator.

This one is easy to use, affordable, and has a ton of ready templates for newbies to AI copywriting software.

It’s also constantly being updated with the latest language models, which means that its output quality is always improving.

Personally, I like using Copy AI to repurpose my existing content for social media posts. It’s great at using templates to help you craft original content suited to the unique context of each platform and channel (whether email newsletters, landing pages, or social media posts).

Copy AI is capable of writing in 25+ languages. Powerful tool.

Price: they have a free plan for up to 2,000 words and one user seat, or their paid plan begins at $49/mo for 5 user seats and up to 40,000 words.

G2 score: 4.8/5

8. Writer

Screen shot 2022-11-15 at 10.50.44 am

Writer is a comprehensive suite of tools for brand teams, marketers, and anyone writing copy internally or externally.

They’re great at homogenizing content across large teams using tools like snippets, style guides, and terms.

Their CoWrite feature is a new addition – a text generator using artificial intelligence / machine learning technology to create original content that adheres to your brand’s style and resonates with your target audience.

You control the input materials, which helps the model learn which words and characters are relevant and acceptable for your brand.

Overall, I’m impressed with this platform but haven’t used it much myself. We’re typically a little less rigid on style guides (and I don’t care about style guides at all on my personal blog – think they’re super overrated).

But if you’re at a company that cares a lot about controlling the writing tone of your content, this product is powerful and will save you a ton of time adhering to those guidelines.

Price: They have a free plan, but paid plans begin at $11 per month

G2 score: 4.6/5

Benefits of Using an AI Text Generator

There are many benefits that come with using an AI text generator, including:

  • Increased efficiency: Automating the content creation process can save you a lot of time and effort. With an AI text generator, all you need to do is provide a topic or set of keywords, and the tool will do the rest. This frees up your time so that you can focus on other aspects of your business or simply enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
  • Improved quality: By learning from large datasets of existing text, AI text generators can mimic the style and tone of human writing. This means that they’re capable of generating high-quality content that sounds natural and flows well. In many cases, the content generated by an AI text generator will be indistinguishable from that written by a human.
  • Greater flexibility: With an AI text generator, you can easily produce multiple versions of a piece of content with different styles or tones. This is perfect for creating targeted content for different audiences or testing different approaches to see what works best for your needs.

Personally, I use AI text generators for almost all of my content writing efforts nowadays. I use it to guide my research and content outlines, start my first draft, edit for word economy and clarity, and optimize for search engines.

Conclusion

AI text generators offer distinct advantages over traditional methods of content creation, including increased efficiency, improved quality, and greater flexibility.

If you’re looking for a way to create better content faster, don’t shy away from trying an AI text generator.

I started out skeptical. Now I’m a Jasper power user.

In this article, I’ve introduced you to seven of the best AI text generator tools available in 2023; so if you’re ready to take your content marketing efforts to the next level, why not give one of these tools a try?

  1. Hi, just found your article, very interesting. In your opinion, which one would be best for writing fiction pieces? I would like to experiment around that (I’m an author).

    • I haven’t written much fiction, but I’ve played with Jasper to write poems and other creative pieces for friends. I’d err on the side of a tool that allows for more complex and creative inputs (vs easy to use templates), so Jasper or Writer would be solid choices. Might be worth it to see if ChatGPT can accomplish this too (at least bite sized chunks)

      • Thank you for your fast answer! I’ve had a go at ChatGPT but for the actual fiction writing it was quite poor (but good at giving ideas). I will give Jasper a go, I want to experiment writing a novel with their help, to see how it goes and if it does fasten the process haha.
